Colin's Forge
A proper portfolio for a kid who was outgrowing Instagram.
The Idea
My son started a 3D printing side hustle and needed a real portfolio — not a social media page, but a proper site where customers could browse his prints, filter by category, and request orders. He needed something that looked professional but was easy for him to manage on his own.
What I Built
A full portfolio site with a custom admin panel. He can upload prints with multiple images, tag them by category, set prices, and publish or unpublish items. The system handles image processing automatically — orientation correction, thumbnail generation, the works. Visitors can browse, search, filter by tag, and submit print requests through a protected order form. It's a real content management system built around how a teenager actually works: phone uploads, quick edits, and zero training required.
The Result
A portfolio that looks like it was built for a real business — because it was. Colin manages his own content, handles customer requests, and has a professional web presence that sets him apart from other kids selling on Instagram. It also taught him how a real web application works behind the scenes, which was half the point.

Whether it's a website, a system that won't sync, or an idea that sounds a little too wild — that's my sweet spot.
